Damage Calculation
ok this may have been talked about to death on another post, but maybe my searching skills are substandard because i cant find it
anyway my question was this: when you attack someone, is it true that 1) you hit one particular piece of armor and 2) if thats true how do you control what you hit?
this concept seemed really out of place in an mmo, especially one which doesnt let you (as far as i know) choose where you hit. (i know this has been done alot in FPS's and such but this aint an fps :< )
but more specifically, my question was with necro armor. i know the tormentor/necrotic is out of the question because of the lessened defense against smite teams.
this leaves scar patterns, bonelace, and cultist. cultist looks horrid, im only buying that if im REALLY bored
which leaves bonelace vs scar patterns
is the +15 global? if not is it usefull?
id appreciate any opinions/comments on this
btw im using bloodstained boots, no way around that

AFAIK bloodstained boots do not have the reduced protection vs holy damage.
As for hit locations and whether bonelace's +15 affects the whole body or not... I don't think there have been many extensive tests on necro armor yet. And if there has, like you said, it's a bitch to try and find.

ok i have been doing some testing of my own... and i think i can safely confirm thar gw takes into acount where you are hit, ive been sitting in maelstrom with 4 forge armors and one basic armor, its either 33 damage or rarely 66 damage, so i can conclude from that that it does affect one area.
as to how, we need our experianced botters/hackers for that, im not gonna sift thru 9000000 line of code
as to the armor.. its gonna be hell finding a place to test but ill try.... and yea the boots are cool. i like them for the putrid timing, you wont stand a chance otherwise

For how armour works and damage location read this. See this article for an extensive look at how damage is calculated.
